Bill resides in Los Alamitos with his wife of 61 years, Marilynn. They have 3 married children, Dr. William C. Poe V, Bonnie Poe-Adrian, and Cathy Poe-Cunningham and 3 grandchildren, Madelynn Poe, William Poe VI, and Jaxon Cunningham.
An 81 year resident of the community of Los Alamitos, Bill retired in 1995 as the Superintendent of Operations from the Dept. of Water and Power City of Los Angeles after 37 years of service in Steam Electric Generation. He worked at the Scattergood, Harbor, Haynes and the old Seal Beach Electric Generation Station that was removed from service in 1962.
Bill volunteers at the Los Alamitos Museum and is a member of the Los Alamitos Griffins Football Foundation. Bill coached Los Alamitos Girl's Softball for 15 years. He presently plays Senior Slo-pitch Softball 4 times per week on local teams and is a member of the Top Gun Gold 80 and over Tournament Traveling team.
Bill has continually served as an elected Director on the Rossmoor/Los Alamitos Area Sewer District since 1992.
